Tuesday, March 16th, 2010When water containing iron and manganese passes through the bed, it oxidized and precipitated by contact and hydrogen sulfide H2S gas eliminated by oxidation to sulfate and insoluble precipitate. Periodic regeneration cycle with a weak solution of potassium permanganate restore the oxidizing capacity of the bed.
