Iron Removal Filter with Birm Media
When water containing iron or manganese passes through the filter bed, birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and iron compounds and produces ferric hydroxide which precipitates and easily filtered. Periodic automatic time clock backwash flushes cut the accumulated iron and manganese and the bed is ready to perform its function.
